The title of the lecture is USING SPATIAL ECONOMETRICS TO ASSESS CONVERGENCE: A Case Study on the European Union's Life Insurance Market, offered by associate professor Codruta Mare from Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The lecture will consist in introducing students in the field of Statistics and Econometrics, in general, and then in the spatial analysis part. based on the fact that we live in a globalized world, students will be taught to evaluate how space and neighborhood may influence the development of a region. Descriptive analyses based on maps will be first conducted. Then we will deal with issues regarding spatial autocorrelation, convergence, heterogeneity and spatial regression models.
