Marko Sarstedt, one of the world’s most influential researchers, professor at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, will be awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of Babeș-Bolyai University, on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

The ceremony will take place starting with 12.00, in the Aula Magna of UBB (M. Kogălniceanu Street, No. 1).

Marko Sarstedt is one of the most important and reputable experts in Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).

Over the last decade, Marko Sarstedt has made significant contributions to the methodological development and popularization of PLS-SEM among researchers around the world, in the most diverse fields, especially in social sciences.

The methods developed by Marko Sarstedt together with his collaborators have become standards in the field, being widely adopted internationally. Among them, we can mention: Heterotrait-Monotrait Ratio of Correlations (HTMT), Measurement Invariance Assessment (MICOM), Finite Mixture Partial Least Squares (FIMIX-PLS) and others.

His papers were published in prestigious international journals such as Nature Human Behaviour, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Organizational Research Methods, Multivariate Behavioral Research, MIS Quarterly, Psychometrika, Journal of Business Research, Journal of World Business, Marketing Letters, Long Range Planning and others alike.

The international influence and impact brought Marko Sarstedt the status of Highly Cited Researcher in 2018, a status he kept on an yearly basis since then, according to the scientometric evaluations made and published by Clarivate. Currently, his published papers count for over 110,000 citations according to Google Scholar, among which more than 33,000 citations in journals indexed in Clarivate’s Web of Science.
