Publicat: 01 August 2022

Eurostat is organising the European Statistics Awards Programme, with competitions in the fields of nowcasting and web intelligence.

The main goal of the competition is to discover promising methodologies and data sources that could be used to improve the production of European statistics.

The contest is open to teams of up to five persons from various backgrounds and disciplines with skills in time series analysis, forecasting or nowcasting.

For the first round of European Statistics Awards for Nowcasting, the competition will begin on 1 September 2022 and will run until 30 April 2023. The competition will take place at the competition site available at, where teams will be able to sign up from mid-August 2022 onwards.

By applying their knowledge of econometric time series modelling in a real-life situation temas will be able to win up to EUR 8000 per time series in case they rank first on both accuracy (EUR 3000) and reproducibility (EUR 5000).

Registration for participation will be open until 1 March, 2023.
