Research Methods & Methodology

Class objective:

The class will focus on offering PhD students input on research methods and methodology, approaching issues such as writing a research proposal, writing a dissertation and doing a PhD. All PhD students as well as emerging scholars are welcomed to attend the class.

Sessions: The planed sessions for the class are as follows:

Session 1. The nature and dimensions of research. Tools of research
Session 2. The research problem. Literature review
Session 3. The research plan. The research proposal
Session 4. Qualitative research. Quantitative research
Session 5. Statistical analysis of quantitative data. The style format and organisation of the dissertation

Language: The class will be taught in English

Schedule and location:
The class will run starting on Monday, June 30, 2014 until Friday, July 4, 2014. The estimated interval for the class is 5.30 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. daily. The main location for the class is room 118.
