Professor Emeritus Werner De Bondt
Werner De Bondt is Professor of Finance (emeritus) and Founding Director of the Richard H.
Driehaus Center for Behavioral Finance at DePaul University in Chicago.
In past years, he was the Frank Graner Professor of Investment Management at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison and the Thomas F. Gleed Endowed Chair of Business Administration at
Seattle University. He also was a visiting professor at universities in Belgium, The Netherlands,
and Switzerland. Werner De Bondt is one of the founders of behavioral finance. He obtained his PhD at Cornell University in 1985. He studies the psychology of investors and financial markets. His publications have appeared in academic journals such as the Journal of Finance or the American Economic Review. He is a frequent speaker to academics and business professionals around the globe.
Associate Professor Florian Neagu, Director of the Financial Stability Department, National Bank of Romania
Florian Neagu joined the National Bank of Romania in 2000 and worked in various departments of the central bank concerning banking regulation, international relations, and macroprudential policy. He is currently the director of the Financial Stability Department, where he has been working since 2005. Florian Neagu is member of various working groups at the European level on financial stability and of the OECD Committee on Financial Markets. He is a short-term expert for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank on financial stability issues. Florian Neagu has coordinated the working groups of the National Committee on Macroprudential Supervision regarding (i) food security, (ii) green finance and energy security, and (iii) financial intermediation. He holds a PhD in Finance and is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Economic Studies, The Faculty of Finance and Banking.
