Chanaka Jayawardhena
Topic: Scanning the Word of Mouth Landscape: Some Thoughts and Directions for Future Research
Chanaka Jayawardhena is Professor of Marketing at Hull University Business School (United Kingdom).
Professor Jayawardhena’s research investigates relevant and interesting problems that potentially develop impactful findings for both academia and the practitioners. Current research focuses on customer experience in the virtual (the internet, self-service technologies, mobile, etc.) and service marketplaces. Particular interests lie in exploring how organisations use technology in attracting, developing and maintaining customer relationships; how consumers evaluate services, the resultant customer experiences, the influence of social media and word of mouth on consumer decision making in the consumption of services, among others.Professor Jayawardhena serves on the editorial review board of three mainstream Marketing journals and has authored over 100 works and made over 50 presentations and contributions to learned academic conferences around the world. Peter Broeder
Topic: An Intercultural Perspective on Persuasion Marketing
Peter Broeder is affiliated to Tilburg University (Netherlands) and investigates new media in online marketing communications.
He is author of numerous scientific publications on socio-psycholinguistic aspects of cultural differences in online persuasion of consumers (recently, online trust and privacy), multilingualism, intercultural communication, and persuasion marketing. These issues are addressed in Europe, South-Africa, and Asia. He also has an extensive record in coordinating projects in these domains.
