Director: Professor Rudolf Gräf, Faculty of Economics and Business Management, Babes-Bolyai University Contract No.190/5.10.2011
The project represents an economic and social history investigation starting from the concepts of regional economy, regional development, regional economic space and inter-regional relations. research involves case studies but also relies on applying a comparative perspective and an integrating vision to wider regional economic and social realities. the project investigates essential phenomena that define, delineate and explain regional economic development generated and organized around economic agents and other originators. investigating research themes from this perspective involves a more concrete approach of topics and the possibility of multifunctional analyses by accessing offered by historical evidence and a large array of socio-human sciences. the project is meant to bring a significant contribution to knowledge in the field by using an innovative method in romanian historiography, namely that of regional analysis in economic history. the lack of relevant research in the field regarding banat, bucovina and transylvania urgently demands such an approach.
