Thesis
General rules about the thesis UBB-FSEGA students enrolled in their final year of studies (3rd year of bachelor level and 2nd year of the master level) and, respectively, those in the period of studies extension who want to elaborate/complete their bachelor/dissertation thesis, must register the name of the coordinator of the thesis in the FSEGA SIS (Student Information System) platform (http://www.econ.ubbcluj.ro/sis/). Choosing the coordinator by the student, through FSEGA SIS, will have to be confirmed by the coordinator, through professors’ online information system, otherwise the guidance activity cannot be done formally. Therefore, it is important that before registering the coordinator through FSEGA SIS, the students have discussed with the teacher and have obtained his/her consent regarding the guidance. The steps described above must be performed no later than the end of the 1st semester of the academic year and are compulsory for students, otherwise it is not possible to obtain the grade for the subject related to the elaboration of the thesis in the 2nd semester, or to register for the bachelor/dissertation final exam.
Instructions for registering coordinators in the FSEGA SIS platform ✓ Students will access the FSEGA SIS application and select the option Coord. licenta/disertatie. In the initial situation, in which the student has not yet chosen a coordinator, the application requires the student to choose a coordinator from a drop-down list that includes all FSEGA teachers who can coordinate papers. ✓ The teacher still has two options: to reject the student's choice, in which case the student will automatically return to the initial situation (again being asked to choose a coordinator) or to approve the student's choice, in which case the student is displayed the message "Your chosen coordinator has approved your work guidance." (In Romanian: “Coordonatorul ales de dvs. a aprobat îndrumarea lucrării dvs.”). After approval, the student has the option to subsequently resign from the chosen coordinator, but this can only be done with the approval of the already chosen coordinator. ✓ If the student chooses to give up the chosen coordinator in case the coordination is already approved, the message is displayed to the student “The request to give up the collaboration has been sent to the coordinator for approval” (In Romanian:”Solicitarea de a renunța la colaborare a fost transmisă coordonatorului pentru aprobare”). In this situation, the coordinating teacher has two options: to approve the renunciation request, in which case the student will return to the original situation (again being asked to choose a coordinator) or to reject the renunciation request, in which case to study remains under the coordination of the respective teacher. Attention: Each teacher from FSEGA (who can guide undergraduate / dissertation papers) has set in FSEGA SIS a maximum limit on the number of students he can guide in an academic year. When this maximum limit is reached, no other student may enroll in FSEGA SIS at the coordinator in question in that academic year.
