General structure of the academic year for students enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year at Bachelor level, or in the 1st year at Master level

1st semester ("Fall" semester) - Starts at the beginning of October and ends in February

• 12 weeks - Teaching
• 2 weeks - Christmas and New Year Holiday
• 2 weeks - Teaching
• 3 weeks - Examinations
• 1 week - Holiday
• 1 week - Reexaminations

2nd semester ("Spring" semester) - Starts at the end of February and ends in July

• 14 weeks - Teaching
• 1 week - Easter Holiday (variable; sometimes between the previous 14 weeks of teaching)
• 3 weeks - Examinations
• 1 week - Holiday
• 1 week - Reexaminations
