Professor Daniel David obtained a new term as rector of Babeş-Bolyai University for the period 2024-2029, being elected with 90.88% of the total votes cast. Almost 79.48% of people with voting rights from UBB participated in the vote held on February 8, the number of those who voted in favor of the management program proposed by Daniel David reaching 1197, increasing compared to the elections held in 2020.

The new leadership program titled "UBB Q-Optimum" (2024-2029): "UBB – a World Class European University" aims to: (1) highlight national and European values and knowledge at the international level, and (2) implement the best international and European practices at the national level.

Daniel David is a professor of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, with remarkable expertise in the field of evidence-based psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, clinical cognitive neurosciences, and cross-cultural approaches in psychology and clinical psychology. He is a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy since 2022 and a member of the Europaea Academy since 2022. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, USA, within the Department of Population Health and Science, Center for Behavioral Oncology. He holds esteemed positions including the presidency of the Romanian Association of Psychologists, vice-presidency of the Danube Rector’s Conference, and membership on the GUILD board.

Professor Daniel David ranks among the top 2% most cited scientists globally, according to Stanford University - Elsevier 2022 report.
